So who am i?
I am Dave Kitson (David Michael Kitson), i live in a town called Morecambe in Lancashire, England. i currently work as a Systems Engineer which is the first time i havent been a manager in years, however its nice to take it easy… my skills are administering primarily Microsoft based networks including Blackberry Enterprise Software and other various Microsoft based software including terminal services enviroments. Also my profession covers VB.net development and many other technologies, however these days i tend to perform more management duties and although i still enjoy IT i need to build upon my management skillset area.
Some of my latest roles over the years used some, or all, of the following at one time or another. I have developed in PHP, ASP, VB5 & 6, VBA, WSH, CSCRIPT, SQL, MySQL, JET, Perl and the usual HTML and XHTML with CSS. Server and desktop OS architecture include Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT4, Windows NT5 (XP), Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows 2008, DOS, CentOS, Redhat, Debian, Solaris, Windows 2000 and so many more.
Yes im a bit geeky you could say, i just enjoy learning, i hate to be beaten by not knowing something and as a result i have allowed myself lots of exposure to many technologies over the years. So after all this geekness is there room for anything else i hear you say! well yes there is……
I also enjoy engineering coming from an engineering family, my father was an old school engineer working on boilers and big shit. I love jap cars, i currently own another Subaru Impreza. I have always had high powered cars and don’t just enjoy them i enjoy working on them. You can see my projects on the other pages. I have 2 children which i think the world of, and they keep me very busy these days. My first website was born 9 years ago when my daughter was just 2 and my son was -4.
First picture far left that’s me in the inflatable Santa suit, the other Santa is Mike Cooke, a long term friend that has worked with me in many a job. He is my kids god father and all round good guy, a bit freaky and likes the hoff too much but in general a good guy.
