Why?

So why is this site here?

Well that’s a simple question really, i use the domain name for email.  I have a collection of servers and online resources and a shit load of domain names.  So seen as i have it i thought i may as well use it.  I have a memory like a Goldfish with short term memory loss which is a very bad start so i use Kiddas.com to store crap i find that either helps me do my job or stuff i just find funny.  I work as a VB.net developer and a Network Administrator, everywhere i go to work it tends to be the same.  I enjoy my job cause at heart i think I’m a bit geeky but i enjoy learning and challenges.

Most of my work tends to rotate around the magical invisible force that is the Internet, people call this the information super highway, personally i like to think of it as an explosion of pointless crap.  There are handy resources on the Internet but there’s that much shite that finding them is almost impossible, so I’m just doing my bit to bury them a little deeper with more pointless crap.  However dig a little deeper and you may just find some interesting stuff on here.

So will the site be here much longer, well its my server, my bandwidth, my domain name so as long as i can keep paying for it it will be here, which will be a long time as i will keep it going as long as i possibly can.  As sad as it sounds i would love to keep it going, fill it with crap, have my kids fill it with more crap and see how long i can keep it going just for shits and giggles.

Whilst working on the Internet each day i see many random things, also many so called experts on the Internet and its technologies, some make me laugh, some make me angry but all interest me in one way or another.  Its a great resource for amusement and education, reference and networking.  Used correctly the Internet can be a great tool, however used badly it can be a dangerous place and an opportunity for people to abuse any skills and knowledge they have to take advantage of others.

Some of the things that i show on this site are ways to use security flaws to compromise vulnerable systems, i don’t advise people to go round breaching systems or hacking their way through weakened networks, however administrators that fail to follow simple security guidelines or don’t do their jobs by ensuring the safety of their networks users and or hardware deserve to be abused and shamed.  I show nothing that anyone couldn’t find out.  I don’t recommend software that aids this and i don’t like script kiddies.

Understanding the how its done is what drives me not the ‘look at me i can do it’, script kiddies i don’t like.  Enjoy the site, leave feedback if you chose.  Maybe you will learn something or just be amused at the bizarre tales i find online.
